Mother’s Day Cards (Fun Art Project!)

Mothers Day Card Who Arted 00

It was 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was raining…again.

I was home alone with my three- and one-year old, and the thought of being stuck indoors for another night was too much.

I grabbed some construction paper and crayons, and with some quick thinking, made this fun distraction art project for the entire family… Just in time for Mother’s Day!

Follow along – and make your own! I promise it’ll bring a smile to any Mom or Grandma’s face!

First, download my free card template. (For the “Mom” card click here. For the “Grandma” card click here.)

Once it’s downloaded, print the template onto colored paper.

Carefully cut out the heart, using the outline provided.

Cut out the rest of the card (follow the remaining lines).

Now fold the paper in half!

To really make your art stand out, cut a piece of white paper and glue it to the inside of the card.

Time for the fun stuff! Write a message and decorate the inside of the card.

If your children are old enough, they can draw pictures. If you have toddlers, let them scribble away!

And if you have babies, you can always trace their handprints inside! (Or, if you’re like our family, do a combination of the three!)

Now tuck them safely away and save for Mother’s Day!

I made two templates. One that says “Mom” and one for “Grandma”. (Both are included in the free download.)

The both turned out great and I can’t wait to hand them out! It was the perfect rainy day activity for us! (Now, hopefully we can get back outside tomorrow.) Want more Mother’s Day ideas? Click here!

Enjoy everyone!Footer
