Day 2 of 7 in my “Week in the Life” project. Just another Tuesday for the Armstrong family. (Total photos taken: 163)
7:15AM | PLANNING THE DAY. The first thing I do when I wake up: check our family calendar. Tuesday’s are usually the busiest day of the week for us, and this week was no exception.
8:14AM | MORNING COMMUTE. As much as I love “No More Monkey’s Jumping on the Bed”, I’m pretty excited for my kids to outgrow this sing-a-long DVD.
8:38AM | PRESCHOOL DROP-OFF. Our son’s preschool has a valet-style drop-off. Parents park in a line, then one-by-one, the teachers come out, greet each student and walk them into the building. I really enjoy waiting on these days – it gives me some precious one-on-one time with my son. We laugh, makes jokes, and sing together… I love it.
11:45AM | PRESCHOOL PICKUP. Greg usually picks Casey up from Preschool, then drops him off at my grandparents for the rest of the afternoon. I love going through his backpack and finding his latest art pieces!
12:48PM | I reminded my husband he got to add a few more thumb tacks to his “sports map”. (We have a giant map of Iowa and Illinois in our basement. My husband puts a push-pin in every city he’s shot sports games in. It’s getting pretty crowded!)
2:03PM | DELIVERY! Another day, another delivery. This time it’s a gift I made for someone special. I love the way it turned out!
3:00PM | SPEECH CLASS. I meet Casey at his Speech Class every Tuesday. For 30-minutes we work on new syllables and sounds. He really enjoys going and I love hearing his progress each week!
5:00PM | HOMEWORK. Before dinner we usually sit down and do homework. Tonight we worked on using our new sounds from speech class.
5:33PM | DINNER. Allison’s in the “I want to feed myself” stage. It’s cute, and messy, and it takes about an hour to finish a meal… but she’s learning and it’s fun to watch!
6:20PM | VISITING GRANDMA. Grandma said we could visit… So visit we shall! We hopped in the van to make the road trip!
8:34PM | ONCE UPON A TIME… Reading Casey a bedtime story is always fun and frustrating. It’s fun because he loves books, and I love making up new voices and sound effects. It’s frustrating because we can never read JUST ONE. We usually compromise around four books; tonight I got away with only three!
9:45PM | MOMMY TIME. Both kids are finally snoring, so Mommy gets a few precious minutes to have a glass of wine and watch a “Cheers” rerun.
11:45PM | GOODNIGHT!
