Day 4 of 7 in my “Week in the Life” project. I’m starting to learn there is no such thing as a typical day at our house. Today we celebrated a 1/2 birthday, went trick-or-treating, and attended a preschool party.
7:07AM | GOOD MORNING! Toast, watermelon, and juice. A great way to start the day. (I love the way my daughter holds her cup!)
7:41AM | MORNING ROUTINE. I briefly run through the house to make beds, open shades, and pick up toys. I noticed the teeth marks on my daughter’s crib: if you look closely you can see where she’s gnawed on the rail when she’s teething.
8:02AM | BRUSH! Brushing teeth is one of my favorite parts of the day. My daughter loves having her teeth brushed, and my son giggles through the entire process because “it tickles”.
10:11AM | SETTING UP. I volunteered to help at my son’s preschool Halloween party. I brought cookies, frosting and sprinkles to decorate.
10:43AM | And the children did a great job of decorating!
11:19AM | BOWLING. The party continues. Casey loved bowling “Halloween” style!
2:38PM | DELIVERY. I ordered some prints to give to our grandparents. It’s always fun to go through photos!
4:38PM | HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY! Today my daughter turned 1 1/2. To celebrate I blew up some balloons and we sang “Happy (1/2) Birthday”!
5:17PM | DINNER. We ate an early dinner so we could get ready to trick-or-treat!
5:31PM | COSTUMES ON. Happy Halloween from Mickey and Minnie!
5:52PM | DADDY! My husband took his dinner break and stopped in for a quick visit. The timing was perfect! He got to see both kids in costume, go trick-or-treating, and help hand out candy. Bonus: He got to shoot some video of the neighborhood trick-or-treaters!
6:41PM | RUNNING LOW. There were a lot more trick-or-treaters than we expected. Our candy bowl started getting low…
6:58PM | LET ME OUT! Allison really wanted to help Casey hand out candy. But it was too cold! The poor girl stood by the front door and watched her brother like a hawk. (Casey missed having her outside with him!)
8:48PM | STORY TIME. Tonight we read “Monster Party” for our bed time story. I love this book – and Casey thinks it’s hilarious!
10:17PM | NEWS! Look who made it on the 10 o’clock news!
11:38PM | STILL AWAKE! I managed to stay awake until my husband got home. We shared an adult beverage, talked about our day, and fell asleep on the couch.
