Day 6 of 7 in my “Week in the Life” project. One crammed Saturday!
6:30AM | ALARM + MORNING ROUTINE. I hit snooze three times before finally putting my feet on the ground. (Which is extremely typical – I am not a morning person.) But once I’m in an up-right position, there’s no stopping me. I’m dressed, fed, and have all the beds made within 15-minutes.
7:08AM | BREAKFAST. No matter how identical their plates are, my daughter ALWAYS wants what’s on my son’s plate. I made them both waffles, but as usual, she only wanted to eat his.
7:45AM | RUNNING BUDDIES. My Mom, sister-in-law, and niece picked me up so we could go to the Lagomarcinos Chocolate Race. I wish I could say I ran the race because I love to run… I really just wanted the sweet pullover jacket!
8:29AM | STARTING LINE. Shoes laced up and ready to go! I told my niece (who rode in the jogging stroller), “This should be a piece of cake for you!” To which she replied, “There’s cake?!?!”
10:30AM | SHOWER + SNACK. I quickly showered and made the kids a snack. Why does it always take more time to cut up a meal than to prepare it?
11:05AM | PLAYTIME. Playing ball with Dad. Our daughter thinks rolling a ball back and forth is the funniest thing in the world.
11:23AM | MAIL TIME! Casey loves getting the mail. He loves it even more when he gets a special delivery! Thanks for the stickers and savings account money Aunt Carol!
12:02PM | PICNIC IN THE PARK. We picked up Subway sandwiches and cookies for lunch, then headed to Vander Veer Park to play. We watched the ducks swim while we ate, then played tag in the open field.
12:28PM | A WALK IN THE PARK. We have to stop by the fountain whenever we go here. Casey throws a fit if we don’t walk around it.
12:37PM | PIT STOP. A quick bathroom break and time to refuel.
2:04PM | Greg took the kids home and I met some clients for a family photo session.
The session was stunning! I love the way it turned out.
3:48PM | PLAY TIME! I came home to a giggling baby and a napping toddler. Not a bad way to be greeted!
4:41PM | SNACK! My little ones LOVE popsicles. L-O-V-E.
5:03PM | CLEAN! Picking up the house real quick before my parents stop down to babysit. I always love how cheerful my daughter’s bow rack looks!
6:47PM | MEGA-DATE! It’s funny the “Week in the Life” project fell on this particular Saturday, because my husband and I RARELY get to go out without the kids. (Honestly, I can count on one hand how many times we’ve been out this year.) But we got to meet some great friends at the hibachi grill for dinner and drinks.
8:43PM | GOODBYE! It was a bittersweet meal because it was an unofficial “going away” party for Greg and Amber. We’ll definitely miss them when they move to Colorado. But we’re extremely happy, because this is a huge opportunity and they have nothing but great possibilities ahead of them. (Although it still breaks my heart…) At least we have this blurry, overexposed, mustache group picture to remember the night by! (PS – My purse STILL smells like a hibachi grill.)
10:14PM | HOME. Greg and I do what most exhausted parents do at the end of the day. Try to stay awake for Saturday Night Live… And fail miserably.
