Birthday Poster

Do you love freebies as much as I do…? I hope so! Because I’m sharing a BIG one with you today!

When my daughter turned four in May, my son asked if we could make her a “big” birthday poster. And he meant BIG. Actually, his exact words were, “Can we make her a poster that’s bigger than me?!”

Ask and you shall receive.

I wanted to do something a little different than the traditional “happy birthday” message… And since my son is currently obsessed with numbers, we grabbed a calculator and did a little math. Okay – A LOT of math!

We broke down my daughter’s age into years, months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes. And when we were done, we just kept going! In fact, my son had so much fun crunching numbers, we decided to do the math for all ages between one and 18!

Our finished design ended up being over four feet tall! And, since we printed it at Staples as an “engineering print” – it only cost $4!! We’ve gotten so many compliments on it – I thought I’d share it with you!

These poster files are 36″ x 48″, but can be resized to medium size of 24″ x 36″, or a smaller size of 18″ x 24″. The largest size is HUGE – as in, bigger than my son…just like he requested! (Thanks to my super cute friend, Megan, for modeling the three sizes below.)

Note: Engineering prints are large black and white prints traditionally used for blueprints. They are extremely inexpensive (most print shops charge less than $5!) Printers may warn you engineering prints aren’t suitable for photographs / graphics. As long as you understand the paper will be thin and the image won’t be crystal clear you are good to go! (I’ve printed several engineering print projects, and in my opinion, it’s not noticeable!)
