Hi gang! The first day of school is right around the corner. Which means, in a few short weeks, first day of school photos will flood our social media accounts. (Personally, I love to see all of the back to school pictures!)
I noticed last year, almost everyone used some sort of “first day of school” sign as a photo prop. In fact, we did too! Here’s the proof:
And while these signs are adorable, and there’s a wide variety available online, it doesn’t really set your photos apart. (Because everyone is doing it!)
So I started brainstorming ideas that would make our photos a little bit different. After thinking about it all summer, I designed this “First Day of School” poster. And I loooooove it!!
I had my little ones help me determine what to put on our poster, then we got to work filling it out! This project is great for so many reasons – it’s fun to fill out, your children can help – AND – it’s extremely easy to customize. You can grab your own copy at the link below:
In fact, I love this project so much, I printed one for each of my children and my niece. Seriously, how cute are they?!?!
The best part is, these posters can be personalized any way you like AND printed for less than $7!! (We printed our signs at Staples as a black-and-white “engineering print”. The files are designed to be printed on 36″ x 48″ paper, but you could easily size it down to 24″ x 36″ or 18″ x 24″.)
We used our trusty Crayola markers to fill in all the blanks. The color, wording, and decorating options are endless! Move aside mediocre signs!
You can download your own poster in my online shop. And use it year, after year, after year!
