This project has been a long time in the making.

I’m so guilty of taking beautiful photographs year-round and NEVER printing them. I’m talking no prints, no photo books, no collages, n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

Look at this cuties! Why wouldn’t I print them?!

I decided it was probably time to start changing that, so I’ve made it my goal this year to print and make photo projects every month, to decorate our home. Enter: this weeks big (and extremely easy) photo collage!

I started at the Mixbook website. I knew I wanted to create a photo collage because I am so far behind on printing photos, and a collage is a great way to feature many photos in one project.

My son and I went through all of our favorite photographs from last year, and narrowed the list down to 40 pictures we wanted to feature and frame on our wall.

Instead of just throwing a bunch of shots on the collage randomly, we thought it would be more fun to make a color pattern, starting with pink photos at the top and working our way through the rainbow to finish with purple at the bottom.

We looked at our 40 photos, and grouped them by the most prominent color in each one. We ended up picking five pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and purple photos. Then labeled them accordingly and headed to the Mixbook website to get to work.

The actual creation of the collage was extremely fast – it took less than 5-minutes. I made a tutorial video to show exactly how we made our collage:

At the end of the day, we LOVE the way this print turned out. We hung it in the most visible spot in our house and it’s the first thing you see when you enter our living room, walk down our hallway, or walk through our kitchen and dining area. It’s large, colorful, and always make me smile when I see it.

I am *thrilled* with the way it turned out.

To make your own – head on over to the Mixbook website.

If you end up creating your own collage print – rainbow or not – I’d love to see it! Share your final project on social media via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Be sure to tag Who Arted so I can find it 🙂

Have a great day! And happy creating!
